Dreaming of Clouds
Double-exposure is an effect typically achieved when taking two or more photographs on the same section of a film strip.
Taking photographs with a film camera is not the same as DSLR or iPhone. Not really better or worse. Different. There's a wait period between taking the shot and the moment when you can see it for the first time. In some cases it could be years. If you are playing with Lomo cameras (cheap plastic lenses, experimental/expired or unusual film and chemicals) more often than not it turns out to be ruined or just not special enough.
I didn't expect this image to come out the way that it did. How could I? All I saw through the tiny viewfinder was a figure of a girl and some clouds ten minutes later with a second click of a shutter. Once I got the negatives back, I saw the lines of straight long hair lay gently on a cloud-pillow while the mysterious figure stared at the shore and the neately planted trees in the distance. This was a lucky, beautiful shot.
Being human is to make stories. Every art piece has one, different for every person. This image reminded of the wonderful dreams that I had when I was still a baby. When I saw it, I remembered my grandpa picking me up and carrying around the room to calm me down as I cried myself to sleep. Everything felt better in his arms. I was flying.
